Scene 1

Setting: In his house, slightly dimly light, he is reading a letter from a friend.

The letter-

Hey Randy,

I have not seen you for a while. I think it has not been since last summer. Wow, that’s a long time. I remember when you and I use to get to hang out all the time. We had so much fun. Do you remember that one time when we got to dig out that septic tank together? That was defiantly the worst I had ever smelled. Oh well it was fun and we were able to get the job done. So I wanted to send you this letter to tell you what had been on my heart lately… (the phone rings and he puts the letter down, he finishes reading the letter later in the movie) I wanted to let you know that you are loved. You are an amazing man, I was proud to grow up having you as my best friend. I really wish we could hang out some time. I want to know what you have been doing lately. You could do so much with your life, I hope you are making some good choices. Remember that we are here to serve God. Jesus gave his life for us, this was showing true love. We get to respond with our love, with our talents, with our life. So I just kind of wanted to encourage you to keep on God’s path. Pray to God and ask him for direction. God sent his son to the cross and he died for us, for all the mistakes we have made, and then rose again three days later. Let’s be a reflection of Jesus’s love. I hope you are still on the path for God. And remember to always bring you troubles to the lord. I hope everything’s going well with you. Please contact me.
